Liverpool Cathedral Archive is a unique collection of books, papers, letters and artefacts which have been collected since the idea formed to build a Cathedral in Liverpool. The archive includes minutes from the Cathedral Committee and the Chapter. It also includes material relating to the Architect, the Dwelly resource and a large amount of material on the work of the sculptor Edward Carter Preston whose memorials and statues are found throughout the Cathedral.  The archive holds thousands of photographs from the beginning of the construction of the Cathedral in 1904; over 4000 large original drawings signed by Scott, Bodley and Pittaway; and much more to be discovered.

The Archives are stored in the Archive room above the Lady Chapel organ. A team of 5 Volunteers look after the Archives sorting, cataloguing, researching and handling enquiries from academics, Historians, Family Tree research. Our Special Collection of mediaeval manuscripts from the Radcliffe Library is housed at Liverpool Hope University. We are custodians of several works of art such as Tracey Emin, Christopher Le Brun and Adrian Wisniewski.  Enquiries may be made by email and we make every effort to help.
